Flowstate BJJ Camp

A Holistic Wellness & Jiu Jitsu summit hosted in a jungle paradise that invites you to find a new flow

with Joe Campisi & David Zwoboda

special workshops by Lauren Sears & Jacob Norton (week 1 only)

May 3 - 10, 2024 (open to all)

Tulum, Mexico

You know that jiu jitsu is more…

It’s more than a sport - it is a community and a lifestyle

It’s more than a workout - it is an art form and a lethal tool

It’s more than the physical body - it is the mental game and the philosophy

But do you know how much more it can be?

This camp goes beyond just training, and it goes much deeper than the “mindset” work you’d typically think of.

This camp is an opportunity to connect more deeply than ever - to plant medicines, to your own soul, and to this incredible practice we call Jiu Jitsu

  • Top Level Instruction

Take your ground game to the next level with daily classes by 2nd Degree Black Belt Joe Campisi from Pure MM, NJ.

Explore new techniques with brown belts & guest instructors Lauren Sears & Jacob Norton from 10th Planet Austin, TX (week 1 only).

Learn how to access a wider range of mobility to hit moves with more ease and take care of your body for the long haul with movement workshops by DPT David Zwoboda.

Improve your physical and mental flexibility with daily yoga, transformational breathwork and a deeper connection to your body and mind fostered by integration coach and psychedelic facilitator Cordi Zwoboda.

  • Intentional Wellness for Mind Body and Soul

This is not your typical jiu jitsu camp. It’s not even your typical “wellness” stuff. We’re not going to get in an ice bath or sit in an infrared sauna (okay there might be an ice bath…)

This retreat is all about connection, intention and depth of experience. We’ll have guided meditations, holotropic breathwork, a traditional Mayan sweat lodge & more, all designed to take you deeper into flowstate than you could have ever imagined.

Personal health & wellness are a focus of this experience and you’ll be blown away by the changes you’ll be making in your jiu jitsu game when you dial in your mindset.

  • Play in Tropical Paradise

The jungle is our playground for this experience, and play we shall. From our magical flowroll sessions, taking a dive in our private cenote, wandering the lush jungle grounds and watching the sun rise over the ocean - this retreat is both a stunning getaway that will leave you rested and rejuvenated while sharpening your skillset on the mats.

We’ve put together an incredible schedule of training sessions, excursions to explore ancient jungle ruins & swim in breath-taking cenotes, and plenty of time for rest and relaxation.

Our Retreat At A Glance

  • If you know Campisi, you know that his instruction alone will make this unique.

But for real, the idea of this camp is to revolutionize how you approach jiu jitsu, seeing it not just as a martial art but as a vehicle for self-growth and spiritual exploration.

With magical flow roll open mats and transformational yoga sessions at night, you’ll be invited to connect with your training partner and your own body on a different level than you’ve likely ever experienced.

You’ll cultivate a radically deeper relationship with your body, mind and soul, all in the framework of training the gentle art.

Plus, you’ll learn a lot of dope jiu jitsu and explore cenotes and Mayan ruins and get to chill in literal paradise here in Mexico.

  • We have a variety of rooming options at Balam Ha, so your final price will depend on your room choice.

The investment for the retreat ranges from 1950$ USD - 2950$ USD per person.

David Zwoboda will be providing some mobility classes aimed at promoting longevity within jiu jitsu. He’s a doctor of physical therapy, certified strength and conditioning coach, functional range conditioning certified specialist, and cooks a mean steak. That has nothing to do with anything, but he wanted you to know.

Cordi Zwoboda will be your guide for all things spiritual. She’s been studying with indigenous healers and teaching yoga all over the world for more than 6 years. Cordi is here to show you a whole new level of depth in your relationship to yourself, your mind and your breath - her biggest passion is blowing people’s minds at how profound their experience can be when approaching things like yoga and breathwork the right way.

Curious About The Flowstate Experience?

Meet the Team

  • Joe Campisi

Joe is a second degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Jamie Cruz. He started training at the legendary AMA Fight Club during its heyday as a UFC fighter factory in the early 2010's.

Joe is a black belt in Jiu jitsu, but he’s a true student of martial arts in every sense. His knowledge base is unreal, and he always tries to incorporate all grappling styles into his teaching system.

Joe has been teaching Jiu Jitsu for 10 years, and on November 14th 2020, he received his first degree directly from master Renzo Gracie himself.

  • David Zwoboda

David got his DPT degree from the University of Delaware, which is weirdly enough one of the best PT schools in the world. There, he learned from pioneers in the field of non-operative management of ACL tears, and he firmly believes that the ACL is the most overrated ligament in the body. David plans to train jiu jitsu until he’s in his 90’s and is choking out his great-great grandchildren, so everything he does for his own training is geared around maximizing longevity, and this is the approach he brings to his clients.

David sees jiu jitsu as the ultimate vehicle for self-improvement and spiritual growth.

  • Cordi Zwoboda

While Cordi is new to martial arts, she is no novice when it comes to mindfulness practices. With over 6 years of teaching yoga all over the world while studying and apprenticing with indigenous masters healers of different lineages and cultures, she invites you to rethink everything that you knew about holistic wellness and holds space for you to explore a deeper connection with your inner medicines - like the breath.

Cordi offers daily meditation and breathwork sessions with as well as gentle and restorative yoga classes throughout the week to explore your body, mind, and breath in a new way.

  • Lauren Sears & Jacob Norton

Lauren and Jacob are high-level brown belts and competitors joining us from 10th Planet Austin, TX. Joining us our May 3-10 dates, they bring a wealth of knowledge and technique to the camp, and make sure you’re leveling up your no-gi game while rolling in the jungle.
